Pigtails!!

Ruby made Mammy's day today - she wanted pigtails in her hair! Just like Josie Jump apparently....

Spring is here

This is the first weekend Ruby and Daddy have been able to go out without wearing 7 layers and a balaclava. And what a treat.
With mammy burrowed away at the Uni library for the last 10 days of the slog, Ruby and I went to the woods. Endcliffe Woods and had ourselves a picnic. Which was nice. Although Ruby got very angry at the many, many "woofies" that tried in vain to eat her cheese and crackers.

Tomorrow, we have rain and winter returns. So until the next sunny day....

Potty madness

Ruby is trying oh so hard to master the potty, which is great. However, this excitement at managing to dribble a tiny little amount into her blue frog decorated plastic "toilet", and the screaching reaction from her oh so proud parents, means that she is keen to show her worth at every opportunity.

On Tuesday night, whilst I was sleeping in the living room due to food poisoning and a bad back, I heard coming from the monitor calls of "Daddy! I need a wee wee!" at 4am. I ran and got the potty and as Ruby deposited her early morning waste, I have never seen her so happy! It was an oddly beautiful moment, one that I had to wake Mammy up for (:

Miss Smith is almost there...

So, Miss Smith is almost at the end of the BA in History that almost got the better of her! Just one week and the dissertation is handed in. Good luck Rach - we know you can do it!
This means, however, that Daddy, at the weekend, becomes house-husband all alone. And I am knackered! Ruby, as always, is fully rewarding though:

Saturday 18th March 2006

Morning at Graves Park after dropping Rach at the library. Absolutely bitterly cold, but the pigs entertained Ruby. Feeling like death warmed up, we played "nursery" all afternoon in Rubys' room.

Sunday 19th March 2006

Lots of fun swimming at King Edward in the morning, followed by a classy lunch, just me and Rubes, in the back of our car. We were lucky enough to be graced with the presence of Oli the Magic Bum, his lovely Katie and Jimbo too. Endcliffe Park is always a treat, even when it is the coldest spring in history. Thanks to the random guy who gave us bread for the ducks when we had none, despite Ruby eating more than she was willing to give away:
